Welcome to David Slater Counselling and Hypnotherapy

David Slater practices Counselling and Hypnotherapy from his own consulting room at his home in the Northway area of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, about five minutes drive from the Junction 9 of the M5, so easily accessible from all parts of the country.

To broaden his area of knowledge he has taken specialist courses in Stress Management, Relaxation Techniques and Anti-Smoking, having a diploma in Smoking Cessation Therapy. He is at present studying EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) with the intention of using this where appropriate within his work. He is a qualified and experienced Counsellor and covers a wide range of issues in the course of his work. He also writes a weekly Advice Column for a series of local newspapers, and is an Outer Brother of the White Eagle Lodge of Spiritual Healers.

David Slater first trained as a teacher and was a Primary Head teacher for eleven of his twenty years in the profession. At the beginning of the 1990s he left teaching and moved into hypnotherapy. He trained initially with The Hypnotherapy Centre, Bournemouth and became a Member of the Institute for Analytical Hypnotherapy.
