David Slater first trained as a teacher and was a Primary Head teacher for eleven of his twenty years in the profession. At the beginning of the 1990s he left teaching and moved into hypnotherapy. He trained initially with The Hypnotherapy Centre, Bournemouth and became a Member of the Institute for Analytical Hypnotherapy.

To broaden his area of knowledge David has taken specialist courses in Stress Management and Relaxation Techniques. He is also a specialist in Smoking Cessation, having a diploma in Smoking Cessation Therapy. He is at present studying EFT Emotional Freedom Technique ) with the intention of using this where appropriate within his work.
David is a qualified and experienced Counsellor and covers a wide range of issues in the course of his work. He also writes a weekly Advice Column for a series of local newspapers. David is an Outer Brother of the White Eagle Lodge of Spiritual Healers.
